BIOGRAPHY
Grace is a first-year PhD student in the Department of Communication at the University of South Florida. Originally from Missouri, she earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Communication from Baylor University. Sic ‘em Bears! Although she'll always have a soft spot for Waco, she's excited to make Tampa home as she begins this next chapter of her academic journey.
Grace is primarily interested in positive organizational communication, with a particular focus on how communication shapes meaningful work, identity, and human flourishing within and beyond organizations. Her research explores how individuals make sense of who they are through their work, how meaning is constructed through everyday organizational experiences, and how communication can foster both personal and collective flourishing. She is especially interested in the intersection of work and family, specifically how communication across these domains informs identity, well-being, and the experience of enrichment. More broadly, she studies communication processes that contribute to well-being, resilience, purpose, and thriving in organizational life. Her goal is to conduct research that is theoretically grounded and empirically rigorous while also offering practical insight for organizations seeking to create more human-centered, meaningful, and flourishing workplaces.
