Privacy Restrictions
FERPA, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act is a federal law protecting the privacy rights of student's records including: grades, transcripts, disciplinary records, class schedule, contact and family information. FERPA restricts what information we can discuss with students and their parents or families over the phone and via email.
To protect student privacy and comply with FERPA, we may ask students to present a photo ID when visiting our office, and we may ask authentication questions in the office or over the phone. This ensures that only the student or those they have approved have access to their records.
Students may grant access to third parties, such as family members and spouses, in Student Self-Service through Third Party Proxy. Review the information on this page to learn how to grant access.
